Terms of Service

This English version is a translation of the Korean version. If the two versions differ, the Korean version prevails. Korean version: aingo.app/terms. These Terms apply to the use of the services that Aingo (the ‘Service’) provides on its mobile app and on the web (aingo.app).

1. Purpose

These Terms set out the conditions and procedures for using the AI learning service and all related features (including the free Experiences and pre-registration offered before the app launch) that Aingo (the ‘Service’) provides on its mobile app and on the web (aingo.app), as well as the rights, obligations, and responsibilities of Users and the Service.

2. Definitions

3. Posting and amendment of these Terms

The Service posts these Terms on its screens so that Users can easily review them, and posts the following business information required by the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc. (전자상거래 등에서의 소비자보호에 관한 법률) together with these Terms.

  • Business name: Aingo (에잉고), service name: Aingo
  • Representative: Yesung Kim (김예성)

  • Hosting service providers: Supabase, Inc. (app database), Cloudflare, Inc. (web)

The provisions on Paid Services in Articles 7 and 8 apply from the date on which sales of Paid Services begin.

The Service may amend these Terms to the extent that the amendment does not violate applicable laws, including the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions (약관의 규제에 관한 법률), the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc., the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, Etc. (정보통신망 이용촉진 및 정보보호 등에 관한 법률), and the Personal Information Protection Act (개인정보 보호법).

When amending these Terms, the Service posts a notice on this page stating the amendments, the reasons, and the effective date, from 7 days before the effective date until the day before it. However, changes that are unfavorable to Users or material are announced from 30 days before the effective date. The notice also clearly states that Users who do not express their refusal by the effective date will be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

Users who do not agree to the amended Terms may express their refusal through the contact in Article 25 before the effective date, or stop using the Service. Users who do not express their refusal and continue to use the Service on or after the effective date are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

Amendment notice: The amended version effective October 16, 2026 amends Article 3 (posting of business information and hosting service providers), Article 6 (deletion of the statement that banner ads are not shown depending on the usage tier), Article 7 (specifying that the Paid Services sold are Pro monthly and yearly subscriptions), and Article 20 (changing the pre-registration benefit from 3 months free on the Standard plan to 1 month of free Pro, and specifying the deadline for applying for benefit eligibility confirmation and that no automatic payment occurs after the benefit period ends). The reasons for the amendment are the start of sales of Paid Services and the change of plans. The amended Terms are posted on October 8, 2026 and take effect on October 16, 2026. Users who do not agree to the amendment may express their refusal through the contact in Article 25 before the effective date or stop using the Service (including deleting their account under Article 21), and Users who do not express their refusal by the effective date are deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms.

4. Matters not covered by these Terms

Matters not set out in these Terms and the interpretation of these Terms are governed by applicable laws or commercial practice. Regarding the processing of personal information, if these Terms and the Privacy Policy differ, the Privacy Policy prevails.

5. Formation of the use agreement and eligibility

The use agreement for the app service is formed when the User signs in with a social account, such as Kakao, and agrees to these Terms and the Privacy Policy. If the User does not agree, the use agreement is not formed. The use agreement for web features is formed when the User agrees to these Terms and uses the relevant feature. Web features have no separate membership registration process and no fees.

  • The Service is provided to people aged 14 or older. The app asks Users to confirm at sign-up that they are 14 or older and checks this again with the date of birth entered in the profile step, and children under 14 cannot sign up. Because the web has no membership registration process, the Service asks Users to confirm that they are 14 or older and obtains their consent when they apply for pre-registration under Article 19, which is the only process that collects personal information (a phone number). If a User is found to be under 14, the Service restricts that use and deletes the related account, input, and Outputs without delay. The legal representative of a child under 14 may request suspension of use and deletion through the contact in Article 25.
  • The Service may refuse or restrict use in the case of an application made with another person’s name or information, entry of false information, or use intended to interfere with the normal provision of the Service.

6. Contents of the Service

The features the Service provides in the app are as follows.

  • All learning features, including lessons and questions for learning how to use AI, learning progress records and statistics, practice tools, character (avatar) creation, Weekly Leagues and leaderboards, and special content. Detailed features may be added or changed according to operational policy.
  • Ads: Banner ads may be shown while using the Service. Rewarded ads on the refill screen are watched voluntarily when the User chooses to, and when the User finishes watching, Virtual Goods within the Service (Energy) are granted.

The web (aingo.app) provides free Experiences and pre-registration before the app launch. Web features can be used free of charge without membership registration or payment, and the features provided are as follows.

FeatureWhat the User entersWhat is provided
AI pixel characterPhoto upload, style textAI-generated image
AI emoji stickerText describing the desired stickerAI-generated image
AI short songChoice of topic, or lyrics and song title entered directlyAI-generated music
AI Quiz ArenaQuiz answers, nickname (optional)Score and public leaderboard record
Pre-registrationPhone number (optional)One-time notification (SMS) at app launch

Services of external artificial intelligence providers may be used to generate Outputs and to score and give feedback on text written by Members in learning questions. Matters regarding the outsourcing of personal information processing and cross-border transfer in this regard are governed by the Privacy Policy.

7. Paid Services and payment

The Service sells subscription-based Paid Services (Pro monthly and yearly subscriptions) in the app. The transaction terms of Paid Services, such as type, price, period of use, benefits, and whether they renew automatically, are shown on the payment screen, and Members can review them before paying. Members who do not subscribe to Paid Services use the Service on the free tier.

  • Payment method: Payment for Paid Services is processed through in-app purchase on the Apple App Store or Google Play. Payment follows each store’s policies and procedures, and the Service does not directly collect payment method information such as card numbers.
  • Auto-renewing subscriptions: Unless canceled, subscription-based Paid Services renew automatically on the same terms and are charged when the period of use ends. Members who do not want a renewal must cancel in the subscription management screen of the store they use at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
  • Changes to prices and other terms: If the price or composition of Paid Services changes, the Service gives notice in advance, and a price increase for an auto-renewing subscription goes through the consent procedure required by applicable laws and store policies.
  • Payments by minors: A payment made by a minor without the consent of a legal representative may be canceled by the minor or the legal representative. The Service informs Users of this on the payment screen before payment.
  • Virtual Goods: Energy, Tickets, Coins, Rubies, and other Virtual Goods can be used only within the Service and are not refunded in legal tender. Withdrawal and refunds for Virtual Goods purchased for a fee follow Article 8, and Virtual Goods granted free of charge (Coins rewarded for learning, Energy rewarded for watching ads, and so on) are not subject to withdrawal or refunds.

8. Withdrawal and refunds

  • Members may withdraw from the purchase of a Paid Service (right of withdrawal, 청약철회) within 7 days from the date of purchase. In addition, if a Paid Service differs from what was displayed or advertised, or is performed differently from the contract, Members may withdraw within the period set by applicable laws (within 3 months from the date the Paid Service was supplied, and within 30 days from the date they learned or could have learned of that fact).
  • However, under Article 17(2) of the Act on the Consumer Protection in Electronic Commerce, Etc., withdrawal may be restricted for the portion of digital content whose provision has begun, such as when use of subscription benefits has started or consumable Virtual Goods have already been used. For transactions to which such a restriction applies, the Service indicates this before payment.
  • Refunds for in-app purchases are processed under the refund procedures of the store that processed the payment (Apple App Store, Google Play). Matters not handled through the store’s procedures can be raised through the contact in Article 25, and the Service will review them and handle them under applicable laws. Where payment must be refunded because of a withdrawal or similar reason, any portion the Service refunds directly is refunded without delay (in principle, within 3 business days).
  • Overpayments: If an incorrectly paid amount, such as a double charge or an incorrectly billed amount, is confirmed, the Member may request a refund through the store’s refund procedure or through the contact in Article 25, and the Service will, after review, refund it without delay under applicable laws or cooperate with the store’s refund procedure.
  • Canceling a subscription: When a Member cancels a subscription, the benefits remain until the end of the period already paid for, and no charge is made from the next period.
  • If a Member cannot use a Paid Service normally for reasons attributable to the Service, the Service will provide a refund or compensation, such as an extension of the period of use, under applicable laws.

9. Changes to and suspension of the Service

The Service may change the content, composition, or availability of features (including features provided free of charge) or stop providing them for operational or technical reasons, and the Service may be temporarily suspended because of inspection, replacement, or failure of equipment, communication failures, or similar reasons. Unless there is an unavoidable reason, the Service gives advance notice of the details, reasons, and timing of the change or suspension. If advance notice is not possible, the Service notifies Users without delay after the cause is resolved. If a material change to or suspension of a Paid Service prevents a Member from using benefits already paid for, the Service provides a refund or compensation under Article 8.

10. Notices to Users

Notices to Members may be given through in-app notifications or to the email address verified at sign-up, and notices to all Users may be replaced by posting on the Service’s screens for at least 7 days. The Service does not hold individual contact information for web Users without an account, so notices to them are replaced by posting on the screens. However, Users who registered a phone number for pre-registration receive a launch notification under Article 19, and for matters that significantly affect an individual User’s rights, the Service notifies that User individually where a means of contact is confirmed.

11. Usage limits and anti-abuse measures

The following conditions of use apply for stable operation and to prevent abuse.

  • App usage limits: Using learning and generation features consumes Virtual Goods such as Energy and Tickets and is subject to daily usage limits. Limits may differ by subscription tier and are enforced on the server. Watching rewarded ads is subject to a daily limit on the number of views and a minimum interval between views. Specific figures are shown on the Service’s screens and may be adjusted depending on operating conditions.
  • Web Experience limits: A limit on the number of uses per User within a set period (by day), a daily generation cap for the whole Service, and a request rate limit per IP address apply. The specific limits may be adjusted depending on operating conditions and processing capacity, and when a limit is reached, use of Experiences is restricted at that point.
  • Bot prevention check: To block automated access, a check that prevents automated input may be required before starting an Experience.
  • Input format: There are limits on the length of text that can be entered and on the format (PNG, JPEG, WebP) and file size of images that can be uploaded, and input exceeding these limits is not processed.

For features provided free of charge, no question of returning any payment arises even if use is restricted because a usage limit is reached.

12. Automated review of input and objection procedure

Text entered and photos uploaded by Users (including character creation and practice in the app and web Experiences) go through an automated review before an Output is generated, and generation is refused for input that does not pass the review. In line with the purpose of Article 37-2 of the Personal Information Protection Act, the standards, procedure, and method of the review and the objection procedure for Users are described below.

  • Review standards: (1) input unrelated to the topic of the feature (meaningless strings of characters, exclamations only, requests for other purposes, and so on) (2) profanity and vulgar language (3) sexually explicit content or content containing nudity (4) hateful or discriminatory expressions (5) impersonation or defamation of real people (6) input intended to disable the review or safety measures (so-called prompt manipulation). Uploaded photos are reviewed separately against the categories of sexual content and graphic violence.
  • Review procedure: input submitted → checked against banned words and judged automatically → generation proceeds if the input passes, or a notice is shown on the screen if it is refused.
  • Review method: The review consists of checking against predefined banned words and automated judgment by an artificial intelligence model, and no individual review by the operator is involved in the judgment. Users’ input is not used as training data in the review process.
  • Objection procedure: Because of its technical nature, automated review is not perfect, and valid input may sometimes be refused. Users may request an explanation of the reason for a refusal or a review by a person through the contact in Article 25, and the Service will review the request without delay and reply with the result. If the review takes time, the Service informs the User of the reason and the expected reply date.

13. Prohibited conduct

Users must not engage in the following conduct while using the Service.

  • Uploading a photo of another person without that person’s consent. Uploaded photos must be photos of the User or photos for which the User has legitimate rights to take and use.
  • Entering photos or text that infringe the rights of others, such as portrait rights, copyrights, or trademark rights, or attempting to generate such Outputs
  • Attempting to generate profanity, hate speech, discriminatory expressions, sexually explicit or violent content, content harmful to children and adolescents, or other content that violates the law
  • Impersonating a real person, or generating or distributing content that defames or insults a specific person or damages their reputation with false statements
  • Transferring or lending an account to another person, or using another person’s account
  • Accessing the Service with automated programs (bots, scripts, crawlers, and so on), or attempting to bypass the Service’s technical measures, such as usage limits, bot prevention checks, and request rate limits
  • Calling the Service’s internal requests without authorization or reverse engineering them, or interfering with the normal operation of the Service by generating excessive traffic
  • Collecting other Users’ Share Links or Outputs without authorization, or accessing them by bypassing viewing permissions
  • Attempting input intended to disable the review or safety measures in order to deliberately distort generation results (so-called prompt manipulation)
  • Copying the screens, features, or data provided by the Service, or using them for commercial purposes, without the Service’s prior consent

14. Measures against violations

If a User violates Article 13 or is judged to have violated it, the Service may take the following measures.

  • Refusing generation for the input concerned
  • Making Outputs already generated private or deleting them, and expiring or revoking the related Share Links
  • Excluding Arena records and nicknames from the leaderboard or deleting them
  • Temporarily or permanently restricting the User’s use of the Service, including learning, Experiences, and the Arena, and suspending a Member’s account or terminating the use agreement

Measures are taken to the extent necessary, considering the nature and severity of the violation and whether it was repeated. When the Service takes a measure, it informs the User so that the reason can be checked, and the User may raise an objection through the contact in Article 25. If, after reviewing the objection, the Service determines that the measure was not appropriate, it lifts the measure without delay.

15. Rights and responsibilities for Outputs

Users may freely use Outputs generated from their own input. However, Users are responsible for checking that Outputs do not infringe the rights of third parties, such as portrait rights and copyrights, and for the consequences of using, sharing, or posting Outputs.

The Service does not use Users’ Outputs for promotional or marketing purposes without the User’s separate consent. However, the Service may view Outputs within the retention period in Article 17 to the extent necessary to provide the Service, such as for operating and improving the Service, diagnosing failures, and checking for violations of Article 13.

Copyrights and other intellectual property rights in works created by the Service itself, such as screens, text, images, and software, belong to the Service, and Users may not copy, distribute, or use them for profit without the Service’s prior consent.

16. Nature of AI-generated Outputs

Outputs are generated automatically by artificial intelligence and may contain inaccurate content or be expressed differently from what the User intended. Also, because of the nature of the generation method, similar Outputs may be generated when different Users enter similar input. The Service does not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose of Outputs, or that Outputs are unique. Please use Outputs as reference material and verify them separately before making important decisions.

17. Retention and deletion of Outputs and data

Outputs of web Experiences are kept for 48 hours from the time of generation and then deleted automatically, and at the same time the Share Link expires and can no longer be viewed. The Service does not provide separate backup or recovery for web Experience Outputs, so please download any Outputs you need to keep within 48 hours. Users may request deletion of Outputs through the contact in Article 25 even before the retention period ends, and the Service deletes them without delay after confirmation.

Character images and practice Outputs created in the app, and learning records, are kept while the User remains a Member. Processing upon account deletion (destruction after a 14-day grace period) follows Article 21 and the Privacy Policy.

18. AI Quiz Arena

The Arena is a feature that shows quiz scores and records on a leaderboard visible to other Users. Entering a nickname when participating is optional, and an entered nickname is shown publicly on the leaderboard as entered.

  • The Service recommends that Users not use information that can identify themselves or others, such as a real name or contact details, in a nickname. Once registered, a nickname cannot be changed, so please enter it carefully.
  • Nicknames that fall under Article 13 (profanity, hate speech, impersonation or defamation of others, and so on) may be refused registration, or excluded or deleted from the leaderboard.
  • Records that are difficult to regard as normal participation, such as those made using automated tools, may be excluded from ranking.
  • A limit on the number of attempts also applies to Arena participation to prevent abuse.
  • Arena records and nicknames are not subject to the 48-hour deletion in Article 17 and are kept until the Arena stops operating. If you wish to have them deleted, you may request it through the contact in Article 25.

19. Pre-registration notification

Users can register a phone number to receive a one-time notification (SMS) when the app officially launches. Registering a phone number is optional, and not registering does not restrict the use of Experiences. The notification is sent once at launch, and matters regarding the collection, use, retention, and destruction of the registered phone number follow the Privacy Policy. If a User no longer wishes to receive the notification, the Service deletes the number without delay upon request through the contact in Article 25.

20. Pre-registration benefit

The Service provides Users who completed pre-registration under Article 19 before the app’s official launch with 1 month of free Pro.

  • The benefit period is 1 month from the date on which sales of Paid Services begin. For Members who complete benefit eligibility confirmation after that date, it is 1 month from the date confirmation is completed. The eligibility confirmation procedure (stating in an in-app Contact support inquiry that the Member pre-registered, together with the last 4 digits of the registered phone number) is announced through the launch notification in Article 19. Eligibility confirmation must be applied for within 7 days from the date the launch notification in Article 19 is received.
  • No payment is made during the benefit period, and when the period ends, the Member returns to the free tier without any payment. The end of the benefit period does not start any automatic payment.
  • The benefit is provided once per User who completed pre-registration. If it is found that the same person pre-registered multiple times with several phone numbers, or pre-registered by fraudulent means such as automated programs, the Service may restrict provision of the benefit.
  • If there is an unavoidable reason, the Service may change the content of the benefit or stop providing it, and in that case gives advance notice of the details, reasons, and timing of the change or suspension. Changes unfavorable to Users are announced from 30 days before the effective date, following the amendment procedure in Article 3.

21. Termination and account deletion

  • Members may terminate the use agreement (delete their account) at any time in the app’s settings (My Info > Delete account). If the app cannot be used, Members may make a request by following the procedure on the account deletion page.
  • After deletion, account data is kept for a 14-day grace period and then destroyed, and the account can be restored by signing in again within the grace period. The scope and procedure for destroying data follow the Privacy Policy.
  • Deleting an account does not automatically cancel an auto-renewing subscription being paid through a store. Members who do not want renewal charges must cancel separately in the store’s subscription management screen.
  • When the grace period ends and the account is destroyed, any Virtual Goods and benefits held are extinguished and cannot be restored. Withdrawal and refunds for Paid Services already paid for follow Article 8.
  • The Service may terminate the use agreement under Article 14 if a Member violates these Terms.

22. Processing of personal information

The Service collects only the minimum information necessary to provide the Service, and when collecting and using personal information, it informs Users of the purpose and obtains consent. Specific matters, such as the items and purposes of the personal information processed, retention periods, outsourcing and cross-border transfer, and how Users can exercise their rights, are governed by the Privacy Policy.

23. Obligations of the Service

  • The Service does not engage in conduct prohibited by law or by these Terms or conduct contrary to public order and good morals, and makes efforts to provide the Service continuously and stably.
  • The Service maintains security measures so that Users’ personal information is protected safely, and publishes and complies with the Privacy Policy.
  • The Service handles legitimate opinions or complaints raised by Users promptly through appropriate procedures, and if prompt handling is difficult, informs the Users of the reason and the schedule.

24. Scope of liability

  • The Service is not liable for damages incurred by Users in connection with the use of the Service unless the damages are caused by the Service’s intent or negligence. However, the Service is liable under applicable laws for damages caused by its intent or gross negligence.
  • The Service is not liable if use is restricted because of causes beyond its control, such as natural disasters, power outages, network failures, or failures of services provided by third parties such as external artificial intelligence providers and stores. However, this does not apply if the Service did not exercise reasonable care despite such causes.
  • The Service is not responsible for the reliability or accuracy of content posted or shared by Users in connection with the Service.
  • If a dispute with a third party arises because a User violated Article 13, the User must resolve it at their own responsibility and expense, and is liable to compensate the Service for any damage caused to the Service as a result.
  • This Article does not unfairly exclude or limit the liability of a business operator set by applicable laws, including the Act on the Regulation of Terms and Conditions, and any part of it that violates the law has no effect.

25. Reports and inquiries

Users who find an infringement of rights, an inappropriate Output or nickname, or an error while using the Service, or who wish to object to an automated review result or have questions about payments or refunds, may report or inquire through the contact below. The Service reviews what is received, takes necessary measures, and replies with the result.

  • Reports and inquiries: ysiig78@gmail.com (in the app: Help > Contact support)
  • Privacy inquiries: the contact details of the Chief Privacy Officer in Section 10 of the Privacy Policy

26. Dispute resolution

The Service and Users will consult in good faith to resolve amicably any dispute arising in connection with the use of the Service. If a dispute is not resolved through consultation, Users may apply for relief or dispute mediation to the Korea Consumer Agency (한국소비자원) or the Consumer Dispute Settlement Commission (소비자분쟁조정위원회) under the Framework Act on Consumers (소비자기본법), and for disputes related to personal information, may apply for mediation to the Personal Information Dispute Mediation Committee (개인정보 분쟁조정위원회, 1833-6972, www.kopico.go.kr).

27. Governing law and jurisdiction

These Terms and the use of the Service are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea. Any lawsuit concerning a dispute between the Service and a User falls under the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court that has jurisdiction over the User’s domicile at the time the lawsuit is filed, or, if the User has no domicile, the district court that has jurisdiction over the User’s residence. However, if the User’s domicile or residence at the time of filing is unclear, the competent court is determined under the Civil Procedure Act (민사소송법).
